This week, the "2007 Kigurumi Calendar" was publically released on the Yahoo! group "kigurumiloversassociation" a collaborative work of Leigh and mechataku. This work features many Western kigurumi faces along with interesting snips of poetry that reflect on month.

Many artists appear in this work - Loopy, Zephier, Leigh, newcomer Sully Taylor, monocrome/victoria, the late Yuri Tsukino, Motoko Katsuragi, Kiki Feegata,  'Kigurumi Kenshin', and Lint.

As a collaborative work, the calendar suffers from the lack of a uniform look and an arbitrary layout that makes it hard to read the hit-or-miss flavor text of the month.  It also fails in its scattering of pics that somewhat fit the feel of each month, none seemlingly taken expressly for the project, or month the performer appears in.  Overall, this lack of consistency gives the calendar a very fannish feel.  Althought it should be noted that this project might be the first group collaborative work of the Western kigurumi community, and in itself an accomplishment, a continuing effort to strive for excellence in all projects should be a priority. Keep it fun, but raise the bar - hats off to the people who enjoyed making it happen.
